What tests are done?

It is important that all donors are healthy. For this reason, we screen all our donors before they are approved. This screening consists of a conversation, infection test and a medical examination.

The following test are carried out on your blood:

Communicable diseases

  • HIV I/II
  • HTLV I/II
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • Syphilis
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea

Approximately six months after your first donation, new infection tests (HIV I/II, HTLV I/II, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Syphilis) are taken. In the meantime, the sperm is kept in quarantine to ensure that no possible contaminated sperm is used. Once we have received the test results and ensured that it does not show any form of infection, the sperm is made available for donation.
