How to become an egg donor?
As a first step, plesase fill in name and adress, email and your phonenumber (application form). Thereafter we will send you some questionnaires about your health. As soon as you have answered these and we can see that you meet our basic criteria, we will contact you with a suggested time to take a blood sample that will allow us to examine your fertility hormones. If the test is approved, you will then have an interview with a coordinator as well as a medical examination. Finally, a genetic investigation is undertaken. Read more (link to what samples are taken). After all tests have been approved, we begin to plan for the donation itself.

Can I be an anonymous donor?
Your information is only stored in the Livio Egg Bank. You will be anonymous to the parents, but in accordance with Swedish legislation, a child has at mature age right to seek their genetic origin. In relevant cases, Livio Egg Bank will always contact you in advance. Read more here (link to what the law says about anonymity)

Do others find out that I am a donor?
No, your identity is encrypted and your personal data is protected by Livio Egg Bank. For example, no information about the donation will be found in your regular medical records or elsewhere.

How often can you donate eggs?
Most women donate eggs 1-3 times.

Do I receive a fee?
According to Swedish law, organ and tissue donations should always be altruistic, which means that the donation should be regarded as a voluntary gift to the recipient.  As an egg donor you will receive  a compensation of SEK 7,000 payment for each donation, in Skåne SEK 11,800, corresponding to the County Council’s (Region Skåne’s) payment to egg donors.

How many children can I give rise to?

According to Swedish legislation, an egg donor in Sweden may give rise to children in a maximum of 6 families.

How do I become a donor?

Is there any age limit to becoming a donor?
As an Egg Donor you must be between 23 and 35 years of age.

What tests do I need to take to become a donor?
The first thing we will do is to take a blood sample to allow us to examine your fertility hormones. The results of this test often give us an idea of the number and quality of your eggs. Later, during the course of the examination, we also test for venereal diseases as well as certain genetic diseases. You are, of course, welcome to see the results. Can I become a donor if I have had chlamydia?
Yes, if you have received treatment for chlamydia, you can become a donor.
